Summary:

The purposes of the Act are to protect and preserve areas and objects of particular significance to Aboriginals according to Aboriginal tradition

Summary of obligations


Under the Act, the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs may declare an area or object is subject to
the Act. It is an offence for a person to take action contrary to the terms of a declaration.
